dual-mirage.blogspot.com여름이 지금 당장 코 앞으로 다가왔군요. 올 여름 당신은 어디론가 떠나가려고 준비 중입니다. 매일 일상적인 일과 생활에서, 지금 이순간 샌드위치로 점심을 때우며, 여행 에이전트를 고르며 떠나갈 마음에 들 뜬 바로 이 순간이 제일 황홀하게 느껴집니다. 어디로 갈지는 아직 정하지 못했습니다. 동남쪽 푸른 해안을 즐겨볼까, 아니면 서쪽으로 떠나 유럽의 고성과 향기로운 커피를 즐겨볼까 광활한 미국의 사막을 가로지르며 불야성의 도시를 돌아다녀볼까. 컴퓨터 화면 앞에 눈을 고정시키고, 여행사와 항공사, 호텔 및 현지 정보를 한데 뒤섞어 찾고 있던 당신은 문득 현기증을 느낍니다. 화면의 글자들이 흔들리며, 커졌다 작아졌다를 반복하며 춤을 추고 있습니다. ● 일상을 벗어나기 위해 한창 여름 휴가를 계획하며, 아직 가지 못한 그 곳을 꿈꾸기 시작할 때 당신은 잠시 미라지mirage를 경험하게 됩니다. 당신이 기대하며, 경험하길 바라는 그 곳에서부터, 그 곳을 꿈꾸는 그 순간에서부터 우리는 이야기를 시작하려 합니다. 여행지라는 새로운 곳에서 새로운 것을 경험하고자 하는 우리는 어리(Urry)가 지적한 대로 '다른 시간대times'의 '실제적인 삶real lives'을 기대합니다.* 나의 일상적인 시간대와 다른 곳을 정하며, 그곳에서 그곳 사람들만의 실제적인 삶을 경험하길 원합니다. 그리고 우리의 욕망은 각종 여행지 정보, 숙소, 항공권 예약, 차량 예약, 각종 레저 스포츠 프로그램 등 안에 적극 반영됩니다. 한 여행지에서 다른 여행지의 이동은 점점 쉬워지고 관광지와 레저권을 둘러싼 산업은 점점 네트워킹과 글로벌 화를 추구하고 있습니다. ● "글로벌 관광객의 꿈"은 우리가 여행하고자 하는 그 어떠한 곳을 꿈꾸는 그 순간, 그 찰나의 황홀감과 자유로움이 무엇인지에 대해 이야기를 시작해 볼 것입니다. 그 어떠한 곳은 이상적인 곳과 실제적인 곳의 중간 즈음, 인공적인 것과 자연적인 것 사이에 위치합니다. 그 곳을 꿈꾸는 그 순간은 일시적인 해방구이며, 우리에게 현재에서 벗어나 다른 이상향을 제시하기도 합니다. 그것은 미래이기도 하고 노스텔지아이기도 합니다. 그리고 그 순간, 그 미라지를 위해 현재 도시와 공간은 어떤 이동과 산업이 전개되어 오고 있는지에 대해 고찰하려고 합니다. '이동 공간' 안에서 순환되는 도시의 제3 서비스 산업, 예를 들어 관광업, 요식업, 금융업과 부동산업이 첨예하게 얽혀있는 지점에서 어떠한 이미지와 계층, 사회 구조가 집약되어 있는지에 대해 주목하고자 합니다. 이것을 해석하는 방식으로 작가, 디자이너, 큐레이터의 다양한 프로젝트를 통해 질문과 분석을 그려냅니다.

When we plan to go on summer holidays, to get out of a mundane life… dreaming of somewhere we have never been before. We are experiencing the instant moment of a mirage. From the moment that we expect, from the place that we want to go, it is significant to note that the moment is full of the unknown. To have an extraordinary experience, as Urry mentioned, we are looking for other "times" and "real lives" out of our ordinary experiences.* We will pick up the right tourist agent and organise ourselves to go on vacation. Our desire for travelling reflects well on leaflets of touristic destinations, flight ticket bookings, leisure sports programmes, hotel chain network. It becomes significantly easier to move one travel destination to another and the leisure industry has pursued networking and globalisation to facilitate this. ● Dual Mirage Part 2: Tourists Dream begins from the moment when we're dreaming of travelling somewhere. The place that we want to travel to is somewhat in-between idealised and practical space, artificial and natural space. The moment of longing for somewhere else other than here is as an instantaneous escape and is done in search of other utopias. It is presented as future and nostalgia. It is a mirage. In Tourists Dream, it also explores the mirage generated at the point at which the service industry circulates, within the "transitional space". This is achieved by considering industries such as the tourism and hospitality industry, financial sector and real estate business, all of which are highly entangled with each other. ● The importance of taking holidays for individuals today is evident as it spreads out in the part of society. In Tourists Dream, the curators Hyunjoo Byeon and Jungmin Kwon and the artists Oksun Kim, Uin Kim, Eunu Lee, Jeong-Hoo Lee, Sôm Lee, Gee Song, Hyemin Son and Juhee Youn map and narrate territory, displacement, and the tourist industry around global mobility.
